The Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, has explained the reasons behind establishing the organisation, insisting it was created to attract foreign investment and promote Nigeria's image rather than for personal benefit. Matthew made the remarks during a video interview with social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, amid growing controversy surrounding the council, which has since been disowned by the Presidency. Woman Burns Boyfriend's Two Daughters to Death

Tragedy has struck Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State following the death of two young sisters who sustained severe burns after a fire allegedly set by a woman said to be in a relationship with their father. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday at the Kaffe community in Zaki-Biam. According to residents, the suspect, identified as Mbayegh, had visited the residence of her alleged lover, Aondoyima Ierkwagh, intending to spend the night. However, the man was said to have turned down her request and asked her to leave the premises. Community sources alleged that the woman became enraged after suspecting that another woman was hiding inside the compound. Despite repeated appeals to leave, she allegedly refused. Fake Presidential Council: Tinubu Wades In, Orders Probe

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the activities of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, describing the body as fictitious and lacking any legal recognition. The directive was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who disclosed that the anti-graft agency has been given 30 days to complete its investigation and submit a comprehensive report. According to the Presidency, the purported council was never created by the Federal Government and has no legal foundation, executive approval, presidential directive or any other lawful government authorization. Police clear siblings of mutilation of deceased mother in Ondo, Eldest son reacts

The Nigeria Police Force has formally revealed that following its investigations, no sign of mutilation was found on the body of late Madam Kehinde Hannah Bodunde Olumomi as reportedly claimed by the public . According to the statement released by the police, pathologist’s physical examination conducted revealed that her death was caused  by debilitating illness. The Eldest son of the deceased, Ojo Oluwafemi commended the Nigeria Police Force for a thorough investigation process, and appealed to stakeholders to come together and give the deceased a final resting place. Oluwafemi, being an heir apparent, issued a statement in the early hours of Tuesday from Canada and made available to newsmen in Akure, said the earlier accusation to siblings by members of the public was due to immense pressure from the people on mysterious death of the deceased, perhaps which caused for urgent concern. Preparations for the 140th anniversary of the Kiriji Peace Treaty have gained further momentum as the Oore of Otun-Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Moba Kingdom, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, has pledged his support and participation in the landmark celebration while unveiling a significant historical account surrounding the treaty that ended the Kiriji War.
