Drama in Idanre as APC Aspirant Escapes Alleged Abduction Attempt

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, an All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly aspirant for Idanre Constituency, Hon. Oyewole Aderemi, has raised alarm over an alleged assassination or kidnapping attempt at his residence in Idanre, Ondo State . In a statement made available to journalists, Aderemi disclosed that the incident occurred earlier in the day when no fewer than 17 armed men reportedly stormed his home, claiming to be operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT). According to him, the heavily armed group arrived in large numbers, harassed security personnel on duty, and intimidated members of his household in what he described as a coordinated and deliberate attack. Eyewitnesses said the suspected assailants fired gunshots at the doors of the residence while attempting to force their way inside. Jamb releases 2026 UTME results Today

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that results of candidates who sat for the opening day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will be released on Friday. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the board’s Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, on Friday. According to the statement, candidates who participated in the examination on Thursday, April 16, are expected to access their results before midnight, once the processing exercise is completed. The statement read in part, “Candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, April 16, should expect the release of their results later today, before midnight.” The board further stated that a formal announcement would be made on its official platforms immediately the results are ready. The 2026 UTME commenced nationwide on Thursday, with over 2.2 million candidates expected to participate in the exercise across accredited Computer-Based Test centres between April 16 and April 22.
